THERE WILL NOT BE CAMP ON THURSDAY JUNE 19TH FOR THE FEDERAL HOLIDAY, THAT WEEK WILL HAVE CAMP ON FRIDAY JUNE 20TH** ***CAMP LOCATION*** 805 Harrier Ave. Patrick Space Force Base, Bldg. 3655 Satellite Beach, FL 32937 The Department of Defense STARBASE Academy provides hands-on, minds-on curriculum aligned to 5th grade standards focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) skill acquisition. Lessons are inquiry based and typically feature 3-5 hands-on activities per hour. STARBASE is an extension of the classroom's learning environment and expectations. The program's purpose is to motivate students to explore STEM opportunities as they continue their education. Students build and launch rockets, design, build, and test boats, conduct chemistry labs, program and test robots, and participate in electronic learning activities to cover topics such as: Newton’s Laws, Buoyancy, Energy Transformations, Circuitry, Engineering Design Process, Force and Motion, Collecting/Graphing/Analyzing Data, Physical and Chemical Changes, Molecular Modeling, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Block Coding and Robotics Programming, Coordinate Grids, Measurement, States of Matter, and many others.
